Page 31 of Tempting Grace (Vaughn)
Marly stepped back. âHeâs not even close to being your family.â
Grace stepped forward again, noting the way Marly paled. âHeâs mine, remember that. I protect my own.â
âNo need to get nasty. Iâm just giving you a friendly warning. Itâs no skin off my nose if you donât heed it.â
She stomped off, leaving Grace in a predicament. She could clock the bitch, but then that wouldnât be very professional. Or she could do the adult thing and let it go.
âSheâs not worth it, baby.â
The deep baritone behind her had her pussy throbbing. She turned to find Jackson standing several feet away, his hands in his pockets. She couldnât read his expression. Had he heard the womanâs caustic remarks? âShe deserved a black eye for what she said about you.â
Jackson closed the distance separating them and took her in his arms. âI love you, Gracie. Iâm not getting tired of you. Give me about fifty years and maybe thatâll change, but I highly doubt it will even then.â
âAnd I love you,â she said on a sigh as she wrapped her arms around his neck. âNow, letâs go home. Itâs my turn with the rope.â
âUh, baby, I thought we talked about that.â
Grace let her hand travel down his back to cup his ass. âChicken?â
His grin lit her on fire. âBring it on, pet.â

Vaughn Series, Book 3
Merrick Vaughn couldnât be happier with this life. His business is jumping and his marriage to the love of his life is about as good as it gets. At least, thatâs what he thinksâ¦until Chloe announces she wants to separate.
Stunned doesnât begin to cover it, but it quickly becomes clear thatâs sheâs dead serious. And if he doesnât take action, as in now, heâs going to lose the only woman heâs over loved.
The last thing Chloe wants is a divorce, but she canât go on living with a virtual stranger who spends all his timeâand hersâbehind a desk. Itâs tearing her apart, and taking a break to sort out her thoughts seems her only recourse.
Then Merrick offers a wicked proposition: go to Hawaii with him for one weekâs vacation. After that, if he hasnât successfully changed her mind, heâll let her go. No questions asked. Thereâs only one caveat. She must agree to give him complete control.
Chloeâs intrigued and scared. One week in paradise might bring them closerâor be their ultimate undoing.
