âYouâre crazy.â He made to walk past, but she caught his arm.
âIâm not crazy. Iâm overworked.â
âIâm seeing someone, Summer. Iâm in a relationship that means everything to me, and Iâm not about to give it up because of a quick fuck!â
âWhat? You donât do relationships.â
âTimes change. Iâve changed. Come on, Summer. You didnât even think Iâd own this piece of crap. Thatâs what you called it, right? A piece of crap.â
âItâs not exactly something Iâd consider pouring my future into.â
He shook his head. âWhatever you think, whatever youâre feeling, leave me out of it. I donât want any part in any of this.â
âThereâs no way to change your mind?â
âNone, Summer. Leave.â
âWow, I keep getting told to leave.â
Carter opened the door. He was so angry with her. That was one of the things he hated about Summer. She always believed that she was perfect, that no man would ever deny her. He was done with her brand of bullshit.
Standing at the office window he watched as Summer left. Whatever had happened to her must have seriously fucked up her head if she thought heâd just jump into bed with her.
He spun away from the window and stopped when he caught sight of Autumn. âHey,â she said.
âHello. Did you hear?â
âI heard. My sister is a little loud in her demands. Louder than life, and all that.â
âIâm sorry. She didnât see you. I didnât see you.â
âDenny hid me.â
âRight.â
âDoes she come around often like that?â
âNo. I wouldnât have kept something like that from you.â
Autumn held a large bag in her hand. âI came with lunch this time. I thought it would make a refreshing change.â
âAutumn, Iâd never cheat on you.â
âWhen you were talking with Summer, you mentioned about being in a relationship with someone.â
âYeah, I am.â
âOh.â
âItâs with you, Autumn. I told you, I donât cheat. I donât believe in doing that shit.â
âSee, I told you that you werenât all a bad guy. Dirty, but not bad.â
The scent of the food filled the room, and his mouth started to water.
âWhat do you have there?â
